Clevedon YMCA
Representative at St Andrew's Church: Mike Kacher.
Clevedon YMCA is an independent local charity affiliated to the YMCA (England and Wales) and registered with the Charity Commission. Our core mission centres on nurturing individuals, with a special emphasis on addressing the unique needs of our local community.
We actively contribute to the well-being of young people through our youth services, notably our After School Café during term time. This offers a secure and supportive environment, fostering the development of strong, resilient individuals and encouraging a sense of community. Collaborating with local schools, we offer mentoring to children facing mental health challenges, aimed at ultimately enhancing their self-confidence and self-esteem.
For adults with learning difficulties, our Y-Wednesday Club provides an inclusive social environment. This is complemented by daytime arts and crafts, along with exercise classes designed to improve overall health and well-being. Clevedon YMCA is also committed to addressing immediate needs, offering warmth, food, clothing, and support through our Cost of Living Café during times of financial and energy crisis.
St Andrew’s church, together with the other churches in Clevedon, enabled by the generosity of our funders, takes pride in supporting Clevedon YMCA's mission to empower individuals to thrive physically, mentally, and spiritually making a lasting impact and bringing positive change to the lives of those in need.
